NOTE: The -huge- majority of my guys WILL die before I bring them back as I can not check in on them as often as I should. These stats appear to help them last longer and fear encounters less as well give an upturn as to what items they are bringing back with them. For stats I focus on Strength, Perception, Endurance and Luck. To answer the general questions that followed, I send between 1 and 6 people out at once, I try to make their trips last as long as I can by loading them down with Stimpacks and RadAways.
This is making me definitely focus more on luck for pretty much everyone in the game. They still find rusty guns and BB guns but they are also finding rail guns and power armor.
The high level luck people I have started using are amazing. They did some times come back with a nice rifle or the like but that was rare. The low level luck people I used to send out would still bring back rusty whatever guns and BB guns even towards the end of their trips. My longest runs so far are around 36 hours of exploration and 18 hours return trip. Honestly from observations luck has More of an impact than time to get nice gear but time is still a factor to get Great gear.
If you do open the game just to check on your explorers, make sure that you pay attention to your resources and get your bars full again before turning it off, otherwise your vault will starve for the few minutes after you turn it back off.Īs pointed at in this question here, the luck of your wanderers has an impact on what they will find. If you're not playing on survival, you can always just resurrect an explorer that dies. You'll want to check on them after a few hours, possibly setting an alarm so you don't forget. The main issue will be your initial explorers, you won't be able to survive a full 24 hours in the wasteland. As long as your few minutes a day ends with full resource bars, and your resource bars are long enough to run your vault for a couple minutes, then you'll be fine. The game continues consuming resources for a minute or two after you turn it off, and then stops until you turn it back on. In my experience, it doesn't really matter how long it has been since you last played, except concerning dwellers out exploring, which is addressed in the question you linked. It might also happen to earn Nuka-Cola Quantum from Bottle.I haven't played this game in a few months, but I played it pretty extensively for months after it first came out. Also, tapping on them while doing a cheer-up activity will give you Caps. Bottle & Cappy temporarily increase the happiness of all the Vault’s Dwellers by 20%, for the duration of their visit.
